Indoor Climate Solution: Towards A Healthier Future
Bringing innovative and integrated formula for your business success and environment

Jakarta, 7 April 2011. Today, Holcim introduced another innovative approach to help creating a healthier living condition in Indonesia, by signing a partnership with Uponor and Sanwell to bring Indoor Climate Solution (ICS), at the Gran Melia Hotel, Jakarta.
“Our vision is to become a provider of healthy living condition for society’s future, and ICS is one of our ways to promote sustainable construction in Indonesia,” stated Patrick Walser, the Marketing & Innovation Director of Holcim Indonesia. “ICS will help building owners develop their buildings more sustainable. “
Derek Williamson, the Director of RMX of Holcim Indonesia also said: “A Building’s cooling system generally contributes up to 70% of the energy consumed in a building during its operation stage. It is important to be able to reduce this consumption by optimizing the building’s passive design and choosing the right cooling technology.”
“We have extensive experiences in water piping systems and Indoor Climate Solutions to the building and construction industry in the world, and we are excited to be able to share our expertise to the construction community in Indonesia,” said Rainer Braeunig the Vice President International Sales of Uponor.
“In the current economic situation, energy efficiency in buildings is a necessity, and we are sure that ICS will help buildings in Indonesia to conserve more energy, leading to a better energy utilization in general,” added Elman Sunarlio, the President Director of Sanwell.
ICS is a smart solution for buildings that comprises product and service, which increase building value and reduce operational cost, and yet bringing more “green” benefit to your business and environment. The solution offers Uponor’s underfloor radiant cooling system and Holcim’s FloCrete, and include engineering services from design to commissioning. The under floor radiant cooling system circulates water in the pipes embedded to the screed layered above the concrete slab, and it is a very efficient system to reduce cooling load of buildings in general.
ICS has been applied in various public buildings worldwide, such as Hearst Tower in USA, the BMW World in Germany, the Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand, and the Marina Bay Garden in Singapore.
